Michigan iGaming and Sports Betting Operators Generate $302,7M in September Revenue

(Michigan).- Michigan’s commercial and tribal online gaming and sports betting operators reported a combined $302.7 million in gross receipts for September 2025, with iGaming leading the market despite a slight monthly decline, while internet sports betting showed a significant year-over-year drop.
In September 2025, Michigan’s iGaming and internet sports betting industry recorded a total of $302.7 million in gross receipts, representing a 3.1% decrease from August. iGaming gross receipts totaled $259.1 million, down from $263.27 million, while online sports betting receipts fell to $43.6 million from $49.27 million the previous month.
The combined adjusted gross receipts (AGR) reached $256.6 million, with $243.4 million from iGaming and $13.2 million from sports betting, marking a 1.5% decrease for iGaming AGR and a 61.3% drop for sports betting AGR month-over-month. Year-over-year, iGaming AGR increased 33.5%, while sports betting AGR declined 52.0% compared to September 2024.
Internet sports betting handle surged to $524.3 million, up 54.7% from August’s $338.9 million, indicating growing player engagement despite lower receipts.
State and Local Taxes: Operators submitted $51.6 million in state taxes and payments, including $50.8 million from iGaming and $768,038 from online sports betting. Detroit’s three commercial casinos contributed $13.4 million in city taxes and fees, while tribal operators reported $6.1 million in payments to their governing bodies.
As of September 2025, Michigan has 15 authorized commercial and tribal operators offering iGaming and/or internet sports betting, with 14 offering iGaming and 11 providing online sports betting.
